Founded in 1978 in Boulder, Colorado, USA by David Jacobs, Spyder is one of the most renowned and reliable outdoor sportswear brands in the world. Focused on enhancing the skiing experience both on and off the mountain, we pride ourselves on our cutting-edge styling and technical features.
Building on the popularity of our first product, the padded racing jumper, Spyder developed and produced the first speed suit in 1986. With an advanced structure and state-of-the-art materials, this suit helped propel racers to new speeds and set higher records. Soon after, Spyder became a leader in the development and production of alpine and competition skiing equipment.
Constantly looking to push the limits of speed and technology, Spyder had already created Speedwyre, an advance race suit, by the end of the 90s, giving racers a huge advantage.
The world of skiing changed at the turn of the millennium, with freeskiing becoming increasingly popular. Spyder therefore looked to lead the charge by launching Team Venom and more professional alpine skiing teams wanted to wear Spyder products, including the Jamaican alpine skiing team.
In 2019, almost two decades after our initial foray into freeskiing with the Venom line, Spyder launched a completely revamped line for the “new school of skiing”, as well as freeride skiing.

At Spyder we pride ourselves on the advanced technical composition of our outerwear, designed to enhance the skiing experience both on and off the mountain. We try to achieve this while also focusing our efforts on environmentally friendly production, but without compromising performance. Although each and every one of the technologies we use (EXO™, DERMIZAX™, GRAPHENE™, SORONA™, RECCO™, PRIMALOFT™, GORE-TEX INFINIUM™) have their own specific properties, they are all designed to keep winter outdoor sports enthusiasts as light, comfortable, safe, warm and dry as possible.
Having been at the forefront of development and production in the skiing industry for over forty years, Spyder now offers technical skiing, fitness, swimming and lifestyle clothing and accessories for men, women and children.
