We will help you choose the right googles for you!
A good pair of snow goggles is the most essential accessory for any winter or mountain activity. They protect you not only from snow, branches, the wind and cold air, but also from ultraviolet light (UVA and UVB). So keep reading to discover the key factors to consider when choosing the right goggles for you.

Types and colours
Some lenses cover variable weather conditions, from sunny to cloudy, while others serve a more specific purpose, intended solely for very sunny days, or just for very cloudy and dark days.
Lenses are classified according to:
● The amount of light that they let through, known as Visible Light Transmission (VLT), which is expressed as a percentage from 0% to 100%.
● What you have been recommended based on weather conditions. This is represented by the letter S, followed by a number from 0 to 4 (rating).
For example:
S0: VLT = 80-100%. Clear or untinted lenses. Goggles of this type are used in low-light conditions, such as at nighttime, indoors or in extremely thick fog.
S1: VLT = 60-80%. Lenses with very light tones, such as yellow or pink, that bring out shadows and contours. Ideal for days with low-light conditions due to cloud cover, fog or flat light.
S2: VLT = 20-60%. Lenses with bolder colours than those used for S1: yellow, amber, gold and red. Very effective at filtering blue light and defining shadows. Suitable for moderate light conditions.
S3: VLT = 10-20%. Dark lenses in colours such as green, silver and blue. Used on sunny days or days with light cloud cover.
S4: VLT = 3-10%. Very dark lenses, in some cases polarised. Used in high-mountain, glacial or open sea environments.
Shape
● Cylindrical goggles: Flat vertically and curved horizontally, offering excellent performance and a more traditional look.
● Spherical goggles: Curved both horizontally and vertically, providing great insulation by offering depth between the face and the lens, as well as airflow through the ventilation holes at the top. This helps to prevent them from steaming up. They also improve your peripheral vision.
